About 2 weeks ago,we took a four day weekend trip to York and Whitby. Stopping at York for only a day we had a quick chance to walk around and see the ancient buildings!! The town was just a bit smaller than Oxford and was very cute. We then got back on the coach and traveled further up along the coast to Whitby. We stayed there for a few days and got to explore the Whitby Abbey and Museum along with the town and beach. The weather was not my idea of lovely, but it was interesting to get to see the town and features. My favorite part was the beach; it was right off the North Sea and so beautiful no matter if the sun was shining or not. Some students went down to the beach to watch the tide come in that night, and a few can now say they took a swim in the North Sea. While trying to test their timing of the waves coming in and out two guys actually fell in the FREEZING water! It was a long way back to the hostile with freezing clothes considering they had to run through part of the town and up 199 steps to get back to the hostile. On the way back to Oxford, we went to a Pro Football (soccer) game. It was Nottingham vs. Sheffield Wednesday; Nottingham won and we had a lot of fun.
We have been visiting many different churches. Now we are attending the Woodstock Road Baptist Church more regularly because there are actually people our age there and we have met really sweet friends. The thing i miss most about church back home is the singing! I love to worship God with my voice, but its hard when you don't know the songs haha. Every Sunday night we have 9@9 where everyone in both houses meet and there's a devo, communion and worship time. Before we came Mom and Dad told us we could plan a trip that we wanted to go on. I have been researching Italy for a while and decided that's where i want to go, so in March we are planning to go to Rome, Florence and Cinque Terra over spring break for about 10 days(:
Love&Miss,
